Eurosonic/Noorderslag-Festival

Last weekend I went to Groningen to work on the Eurosonic /Noorderslag-festival wich is held there every year in Januari. ( check www.noorderslag.nl for the bands and www.3voor12.vpro.nl for reviews and audio) A very nice and interesting festival because on Eurosonic you can get to know new bands from all over Europe, and the Noorderslag part is all about Dutch bands, old and new. Plus it's a weekend in wich everybody who does something in music or radio, meets and drink their asses of....Including................................me.

Greatest discoveries on Eurosonic:
The Answer (Fantastic Irish Led Zep inspired pure rock and roll)
Zico Chain (Really loud straight forward three piece rockband from England)
Duke Special (Man with a plan and brilliant songs)
Joy Denalane (German based nu-soul but what a great voice and a superb band)

Best performances on Noorderslag:
Matik (Eclectic elektrodance from Amsterdam...Kicks ass)
Aux Raus (Even more eclectic dance-punk from our capitol)
Luie Hond (Reggae oh so cool and vibrant...Best band in it's style)
Johan (Because they always perform great)

The Bloody Honkies ( Because they are so goddamn promising...)
